Capillary electrophoresis Q&A

The most frequent Q&A

What are the limits of quantification that we could reach for main ion analysis with capillary electrophoresis developed methods by WynSep?

WynSep has developed 2 analysis methods for major ions. Each method was validated according to the NF T-90210 norm. The anion analyse method allows the determination of bromide, chloride, nitrite, nitrate and sulphate with validated quantification limits between 30 and 70 μg/L. The cation analyse method allows the determination of ammonium, potassium, sodium, calcium and magnesium with validated quantification limits between 25 and 50 μg/L. WynSep supplies analysis kits for the both separations allowing the user to get a turnkey solution.

What are the strengths of capillary electrophoresis compared to other separative techniques?

Capillary electrophoresis is a versatile, reliable and low-cost technique at utilisation. Indeed, with the same instrument, it is possible to analyse organic and inorganic compounds with most of the time, quicker analysis time than those obtained by chromatography. Moreover, Capillary Electrophoresis does not use solvents and needs a very small amount of samples, making it the most eco-friendly technique on the market. Finally, the separation capillary can be acquired at a significantly cheaper price than a chromatography column for an equivalent number of analyses.

What are the different kinds of detections available on WynSep instruments?

WynSep instruments are the first on the market to integrate a UV and conductivity contactless detections. It is also possible to link the instruments with a fluorescence detection and mass spectrometry.

For which analysis can we use capillary electrophoresis?

Every soluble molecules in water are susceptible to be analysed by Capillary Electrophoresis. This technique is already well known for protein analysis, peptides, antibodies, ions, organic acids and active ingredients of medicines. WynSep has its own laboratory which could investigate your requests and developments according to your parameters to fit your requirements.
